December’s Maker of the Month…

The Culinary Center of Kansas City features local artisans in The Kitchen Shop, and each month we feature a Local Maker of the Month. In December, we’re featuring Sweet Streams Lavender

Sweet Streams LavenderJoe and Christina Blincoe, founders of Sweet Streams Lavender, grow and harvest a wide variety of lavender including Provence, Folgate, Grosso, and Royal Velvet. lavenderThe company was named for the tranquil surroundings and streams that converge on the pond of their home and family-owned and -operated lavender farm located near Louisburg, Kansas.

Committed to practicing clean and organic farming. the folks at Sweet Streams are dedicated to improving lives through the use of natural and minimal ingredients in each of their products.  Lavender, they say, is one of the most versatile herbs with many health benefits and uses.

We carry several of their soothing products in our Kitchen Shop at The Culinary Center of Kansas City, including their lavender buds (great for cooking!), lip balm and candles. And you’ll get 10% off your in-store purchase of Sweet Streams Lavender products in December (they make wonderful holiday gifts!)

The lavender buds are also available on our online Kitchen Shop (click here). Grind the buds and try out this tasty recipe with our friends at Sweet Streams Lavender…
