Explore Downtown Overland Park, KS

Learn more about this little community that we call home…

Located in the heart of Overland Park from roughly Metcalf to Lowell and 79th to 83rd Streets, Downtown Overland Park is situated on the historic Santa Fe Trail. The City of Overland Park traces its roots back to 1905 when William B. Strang Jr. founded subdivisions along a military roadway with a vision of building a “park-like” community.

In the early 1990s, the historic downtown area was renovated, the Clock Tower Plaza was added and the Farmers’ Market Pavilion was constructed. Our charming area offers a walkable community with a small-town flavor. There are around 300 local businesses in Downtown Overland Park, including great food, creative art, and a variety of shops. Come explore Downtown Overland Park!
