That’s A Smokin’ Gouda Burger!

These burgers will have you cheering before the game even starts. They’re just that gouda. Enjoy them at your tailgate and… Go Royals!

Gouda BurgerSmoked Gouda Burger

  • 1 tablespoon onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
  • ¼ cup smoked Gouda cheese, finely shredded
  • Oil, for grill
  • 2 hamburger buns, split
  • Lettuce leaves and tomato slices (optional)

In a small bowl add onion, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper and stir to combine.  Add beef by crumbling into bowl and mix together, using hands.  Shape meat mixture into 4 thin patties.  Sprinkle cheese over 2 of the patties and top with remaining patties, pressing CCKC Loves Baseballedges firmly to seal together.  Preheat grill to medium heat and oil grates.  Transfer patties to grill and cook for 6 minutes on each side or until an instant-read thermometer reads 160 degrees and juices run clear.  To serve, add hamburger bun bottom to individual serving plates.  Top each with 1 patty and top half of bun.  Serve warm. 

Makes 2 servings.
