Ships that you capture during boarding can be enrolled in the Kenway fleet, provided that your computer or game console has a direct connection to Ubisoft servers (you will be notified of this by a dedicated connection icon next to the minimap.). It's worth noting that in the case of the Xbox 360, you don't need Xbox Live gold status. However, using this feature is not possible offline, the system must be connected to the Internet.
Kenway's Fleet mode also has a mini-game of naval battles, which involves ships of your fleet. Such battles have only one goal - to reduce the risk of entering such routes, which only increases your chances of completing the mission. In order to be able to work smoothly on the main routes, it is enough to maintain the risk factor at an average, yellow level.
Each ship offers bonuses that can be useful in battle.
Only ships that are not currently in motion can take part in naval battles. Both you and your opponent can choose up to three ships of any type. The class of the ship determines how quickly it will enter battle (turn-based battles), how much damage it can inflict and how resistant it is to damage inflicted by the enemy. Experience shows that it is best to use liners and frigates for this purpose - there is no point in engaging in battles with schooners or brigs, because the risk of losing them is too great.

If you have fire barrels at your disposal, you can use them regardless of the order in which the ships entered the battle. Unfortunately, you cannot influence where the barrel lands, so you need to count on luck here. It's the same with the standard fire. The captains of the ships themselves determine the targets for their attacks, and you have nothing to say here.
The mini-game is simple enough that you can learn its rules in the shortest possible time, and if you only use liners, the chances of losing will practically drop to zero. Finally, it is worth remembering that after each battle, you need to repair the ship. In the case of liners, repair costs are high, but the supply of precious stones can always be replenished by capturing more ships by boarding and subsequently exchanging them for trinkets.
