Properly laid carpet can last for several years, laying can be carried out in two ways: with glue and without glue. Many are sure that the glue will not allow you to replace the flooring in the future, but this is not the case, there are special tools that will easily allow you to replace the carpet. It all starts with measuring the room, the main thing here is accuracy, draw a room with measurements around the perimeter, also do not forget to mark the door and window openings, as well as the location of other elements of the room. Never rely on the data specified in the technical plan of the apartment, they often differ from the actual size. Now you need to go to the store and choose the right carpet. The floor surface must be cleaned of dirt and dust before laying. Now lay out the purchased carpet on the floor, but do not rush with the cuts, let it lie down. After a couple of hours, you can start laying directly, arrange the canvas so that it goes a few centimeters beyond the baseboard, the same applies to doorways and various niches. It is worth cutting the material from two sides, heading from the ends to the center, using a board (do not forget about a few extra centimeters). It is necessary to make incisions in the corners, then the canvas will lie flat and will not cause you any trouble. Now it is necessary to align the canvas, you can do it with a bar moving from the center to the edges. If the carpet is attached to glue, then bend half of the canvas and apply glue to the floor. Let the floor dry a little for a couple of minutes and lay the canvas on it. We do the same with the second half of the canvas. Do not forget to align the canvas by smoothing it with a bar from the center to the edges. There should not be too much glue, otherwise it will get out. There is also a method of laying without glue, using adhesive double-sided tape, this method is more practical, since it does not require removing the old layer of glue when replacing the carpet. But, in any case, do not forget to use furniture nails for better fastening under the baseboards, and use a special metal holder at the place of the threshold where the carpet ends.
