Yep, the American Royal moved to Arrowhead Stadium from its home of 36 years in the West Bottoms. And you know what that means? Our Midwest BBQ Institute will STILL be offering our annual “Weekend in the Inner Sanctum of a Competition BBQ Team” Class! (Folks, we have ‘placed” every year. We mean business!)
We realize that summer hasn’t even officially begun, but that hasn’t stopped us from opening up registration for this limited-enrollment experience that is your chance to not only learn how to compete in the World Series of BBQ but also to get a “real deal” behind-the-scenes experience to grill with the pros… including an American Royal Grand Champion! In our Inner Sanctum class, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 2 – 4, you’ll experience a hands-on, up-close-and-personal full weekend of BBQ with the masters themselves. (This team, including professional chef and 30+year BBQ Pit Master Chef Richard McPeake and Culinary Instructor and Food-and-Beverage Guy’ Bruce Campbell, placed 8th in BBQ Sides and 9th in BBQ Pork last year – they know what they’re doing!)
These guys will take you step-by-step through the entire American Royal contest process. You’ll learn the ins and outs of prep and trimming of meats, fire building and maintenance, entry presentations, judging activities, etc. You can stay all night, if you dare!
