Heather, our Private Events Manager, was just updating her notes and realized just how much food our All Hands for Hunger events have provided for local charities lately.
This one just gives us a nice fuzzy feeling in our hearts and we had to share.
In the month of August alone, the five All Hands for Hunger cooking parties provided 1,092 servings of delicious food (and pies!) for the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge, New House Shelter, Operation Breakthrough, Sunflower House and TNK Children’s Foundation. We have been offering this interactive cooking party model for 4 years now, and we are well over 100,000 servings donated. Uh huh… that really makes us warm all over!
Representatives for the nonprofit recipient groups drop in on our interactive cooking parties to share with them the mission of the organization and provide information on exactly for whom the group is cooking.  Talk about making the connection! So, our chefs-for-the-day not only come together to have some fun and learn new cooking skills and recipes, they know they’re making a difference in the lives of those in need in our Kansas City community. And, by the way, everyone sits down around the table to dine together in this model as well… ’cause you gotta eat, right?
There’s a win-win for you !
