We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again… our culinary instructors are, bar none, THE best in the Midwest, perhaps even the country. We have more talent in our kitchens than you can shake a whisk at, and we’re growing our pool of rock stars all the time..
Today’s spotlight shines on our newest instructor, a chef with national (and international) experience, who has cooked for presidents and who has a passion for pairing wine and food…
Chef Andrew Kneessy
Chef Andrew has more than 20 years of experience as an Executive Chef at both city clubs and country clubs. Upon graduating from the prestigious Culinary Institute of America and completing his internship at Windows on the World in the World Trade Center, he began his career with Hyatt Hotels in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. There he had the opportunity to work at the Occidental Restaurant, which led him to opportunities at the Canadian Embassy, Blair House and the White House, where he cooked for George Bush and Bill Clinton.
He fulfilled a dream of his when he spent time cooking in Belgium and the Netherlands. When he returned to the U.S from Europe, Chef Andrew went to work at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City, where he was selected as a finalist to compete at the Bocuse D’or Culinary Competition held in Chicago. He was recruited to oversee the kitchen at the Historic Georgetown Club, where he introduced a market-driven seasonal menu to much acclaim.
Chef Andrew has attended continuing education wine classes at the Culinary Institute in Napa Valley and has passed the Court of Masters Sommeliers Introductory Course.
He is currently the Premium Protein Specialist for Sysco Kansas City, working as a trusted business partner to many operations in the Kansas City area.
