Kade called our Event Manager, Mimsy, with an idea. He had it all planned out and needed our help to make the day perfect. Mimsy put together the details of the private cooking class event to make sure everything went off without a hitch, including an email (apparently sent to our whole mailing list, but in fact only directed toward Kade) inviting them to a chef demonstration in our kitchen.
Chef Matthew led the couple through the process of making Tomato Cognac Soup, Champagne Vinaigrette and Chocolate Truffles, then left them to enjoy the foods while he went to get a ‘special gift’ we had for them to thank them for taking time on their weekend to let him walk through this class presentation. Sneaky! That ‘special gift’ was actually pre-planned by Kade to lead into his marriage proposal. It was an adorable recipe box that he had dropped off the day before.
As Caitie opened the box and the realization of what was happening dawned on her, Kade dropped to his knee and asked her to marry him. Awwwww…. really sweet. And of course, she said, “Yes!” as he slipped the beautiful engagement ring he had picked out onto her finger.
